Determining requirements
The starting point is the question of what you need vehicles for. Who drives how many kilometres on which routes? What is being transported? Can vehicles be shared? Is private use intended? The answers determine the number and type of vehicles as well as the basic parameters of the contracts.
A written company car policy records who receives a car, which vehicle classes are permitted and which budget applies. It creates clarity for everyone involved and simplifies later procurement. For small fleets, a short document that is reviewed regularly is often enough.
